The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran said: Iran's official response to Trump's letter was sent appropriately and through Oman.
According to Ashura News, citing ISNA, Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi said about the timing of Tehran's response to the letter sent by US President Donald Trump: Iran's official response to Mr. Trump's letter was sent yesterday (Wednesday, 26 April 1404) appropriately and through the country of Oman.
He added: This official response includes a letter in which our points of view regarding the current situation and Mr. Trump's letter have been fully explained and informed to the other party.
Araqchi emphasized in an interview with IRNA: Our policy remains to not negotiate directly under conditions of maximum pressure and military threats, but indirect negotiations, as they have existed in the past, can continue. Indirect negotiations were held by both Mr. Rouhani's government and the government of Shahid Raisi.
According to ISNA, Araqchi had previously said in response to a question about the details of Trump's letter: "The letter is mostly a threat, but it also claims that there are opportunities, so to speak." He added: "We have worked on the angles of the letter and have paid close attention to all its points." Araqchi emphasized: "The response that will be prepared will be prepared by taking into account all these angles, and we will see both the threat and the opportunity, and in the words of the martyred General Soleimani, in the heart of every threat there is also an opportunity, and God willing, we will also consider its opportunities."
