In response to renewed US attacks on Yemen, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman called for an end to the silence and inaction of the United Nations Security Council in this regard.
According to Ashura News, quoted by Tasnim, Ismail Baghaei, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongly condemned the continued illegal and unjustified US airstrikes on various regions of Yemen, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of Yemeni citizens and the destruction of people's homes and some of the country's infrastructure.
Pointing out that the US military aggression against Yemen and targeting the country's infrastructure is carried out with the aim of taking revenge on the Yemeni people for their solidarity and support for the oppressed Palestinian people, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered these attacks a gross violation of the principles of the United Nations Charter and the fundamental rules of international law, including humanitarian law and human rights, and emphasized the international responsibility of the US government for committing these criminal acts.
He noted that the repeated US military aggressions against Yemen, which are committed with the complicity and intelligence and logistical participation of the Zionist regime, are in line with the sinister conspiracy of this regime and its supporters to extinguish any solidarity with the Palestinian people, and cannot be separated from the criminal plan to eliminate Palestine from colonialism.
Baqai described the US military attacks on Yemen and the violation of the country's territorial integrity as a clear threat to international peace and security, and called for an end to the silence and inaction of the United Nations Security Council in this regard.
