According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr News Agency, Esmail Baghaei, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote in a message on his personal page on the occasion of the anniversary of the entry into force of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons: April 29 is the anniversary of the entry into force of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. This day symbolizes the global consensus for the Iranian nation not to repeat the crimes committed during the imposed Iraq-Iran war using chemical weapons against Iranian soldiers and civilians.

He added: "Discovering the truth" is a prerequisite for "implementing justice"; clarifying the role of suppliers of items and technologies used in the development and production of Saddam's chemical weapons is a serious issue on the Foreign Ministry's agenda. Iran's demand from Germany to create a mechanism to discover the truth and enlighten public opinion in Iran and the world about its role in the production of chemical weapons in Iraq is in this regard.
