According to Ashura News, quoted by Al-Mayadeen, Sheikh Naim Qassem, Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, said on the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Sheikh Nabil Qaouq and Sayyed Suhail Al-Husseini, prominent figures of the Lebanese Islamic resistance: We commemorate the first anniversary of the martyrdom of the jihadist leaders Sheikh Nabil Qaouq and Suhail Al-Husseini. We will talk about the two martyrs and then discuss regional and domestic political developments.

He added: Martyr Sheikh Qaouq played his part and made the necessary contribution in confronting the imposed war against the Islamic Republic. When the enemies target Iran, the Islamic Resistance, the truth and Palestine, all of these are one goal, and therefore everyone present in the region must assume the responsibility he can.

The Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon stated: Martyr Sheikh Qaouq was responsible for preventive security from 2018 until his martyrdom. The question that arises is how Martyr Sheikh Qaouq was transferred from the Vice Chairman of Hezbollah’s Executive Council to the Preventive Security Unit. This was at the request of Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, and Sheikh Nabil Qawuq obeyed without hesitation. Sheikh Qawuq paid special attention to the affairs of the fighters, both in the south and when he came to Beirut. He would go to Syria and meet with the fighters and was very close to them.

Martyr Sheikh Qawuq did not abandon religious lessons and teaching and debates with a number of scholars. He has books on character, ethics and beliefs. Martyr Sheikh Qawuq is a model of models full of awareness and faith. Martyr Sheikh Qawuq recited three parts of the Holy Quran daily. Twelve scholars were martyred in the First Battle of Al-Bas, and this shows that our scholars are an inseparable part of the political, jihadi and practical movement of the nation.

The Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon also said about Martyr Suhail Al-Husseini: Martyr Al-Husseini, this jihadi commander, was a comrade-in-arms of Hajj Imad Mughniyeh from the beginning, and Hajj Imad Mughniyeh relied on him in a special way in jihadi and security matters. This martyr took charge of the security of the Beirut region in 1991 and then was responsible for counter-espionage until 2000. In 2008, Martyr Al-Husseini left the headquarters and became the deputy of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Hezbollah.

He added: This martyr paid great attention to the prisoners' case. He was called a mentor, a cultural figure, and a teacher. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had made him responsible for pursuing the economic and social case and established projects to help the people. This martyr wanted to remain an unknown soldier away from the noise and fame. He was a model of sacrifice, patience, and steadfastness, calm and quiet.

The Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah continued: Israel is moving in the direction of the Greater Israel project, and America fully supports it, and every step is part of Greater Israel. Every step that you see as part of a specific retreat is a tactical retreat to exploit the situation for specific purposes for the enemy.

Sheikh Naim Qassem emphasized: What we have witnessed in Gaza for two years is an inseparable part of the Greater Israel project. Everything in the region is interconnected. We must all confront this danger and no one should say that our country is exempt from this issue. Both are at risk. Today is Gaza and other steps will be taken in the coming days according to Israel's perspective. We must

Referring to Trump's plan for Gaza, he said: This plan is fraught with dangers. This plan was presented to some Arab countries and then Trump made amendments in a meeting with Netanyahu that were fully in line with Israel's demands and some of its clauses were changed in order to implement the Greater Israel project through political means after it failed to do so through attacks and killings.

Naim Qassem emphasized: We are facing a plan with many question marks, and some officials from Arab countries said this and were surprised and asked for an explanation. Trump's plan is consistent with the five demands set by Israel for an end to the Gaza war, and it is an Israeli plan disguised as an American one.

The Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon stated: Why was Trump's plan proposed at this juncture? This plan was proposed for four reasons; first, to acquit Israel against the global wave of condemnation, especially since most countries and the United Nations have risen against Israel and there is a popular movement in American and European countries, and this plan is a way to soften and improve Israel's image and reputation.

He added: We witnessed the global fleet of steadfastness set off from many countries, and this indicates the peak of the decadence that Israel has reached. Special greetings to Spain, which acted in a more visible manner than other countries.

Naim Qassem stated: We are waiting for the result that the Palestinians will announce because this is a plan and not an agreement, and things will be built according to the agreement. Surrender has no place in the Palestinian dictionary. We hope that the Arab and Islamic countries will at least not put pressure on the resistance.

Referring to the continuation of the Zionist regime’s attacks on Lebanon, he said: “Lebanon is at the center of the storm due to Israeli aggression, continuous aggression, killing of children and engineers, and they are seeking to prevent the daily life of the people in any way because they want to pressure the resistance and its base and weaken Lebanon, and this is supported by America with all its might.”

Naeem Qassem said: “They were looking for us to respond to their attacks and have that excuse for more brutality and to say that we were the agents of expansionism, and we took this excuse from them. Their view was that we were weak and busy with internal situations and destruction, and to marginalize us, but they were surprised by our active participation. They tried to achieve through politics what they could not achieve through war, but it became clear to them that this was impossible because we have a broad popular base, and this was also a surprise to them.”

Naim Qassem clarified: "They were seeking sedition through the army, and the army acted wisely. It is true that there is no military equality between us and "Israel", but we are committed to our homeland, ready for sacrifice and jihad, and steadfast in our will to resist. We have a great and historical people who are invincible, and we have been able to create a situation of equality through which we can confront their bullets and projects. Israel is unable to advance because we have a great nation.

The Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon also emphasized the need to rebuild the devastation caused by the Zionist regime's war against Lebanon and called on the Lebanese government to put this position at the forefront of its affairs.
