PZSHKIAN appreciate Oman's role in Iran-US indirect talks

In a meeting with the Sultan of Oman, the President said: "We also appreciate the active and constructive role of the Sultanate of Oman in the indirect negotiations process, and we hope that this process will lead to good results."

According to Ashura News, citing Mehr News Agency, Masoud Peshkian met and talked with "Haitham bin Tariq", Sultan of Oman, this Tuesday afternoon, during his official visit to Oman.

In this meeting, the President emphasized the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to expand cooperation with Oman in all fields and stated: We are ready to do everything in our power for the honor and greatness of Muslims. Each of us has capacities that we can use for the welfare and progress of each other and other nations of the region; in such circumstances, no foreign power will be able to subjugate Muslim nations.

Appreciating the clear positions of the Sultanate of Oman in supporting the Palestinian people, Pezzekian stated: We sincerely thank you for your good positions on the Gaza issue and supporting the oppressed.

Referring to Iran's readiness to develop cooperation with Oman in the fields of finance, science, education, technology, and especially medicine, he emphasized: "In the field of medicine, we can form constructive relations with Oman. Although oil and gas are God-given blessings, they are not unlimited. It is necessary for the businessmen and industrialists of the two countries to plan for the future and strengthen the long-term economic foundations for future generations."

In another part of his speech, the doctors emphasized the necessity of facilitating the process of economic exchanges, trade facilitation, and expanding cooperation between them in the fields of defense and security.

The President of our country also pointed out the active and constructive role of the Sultanate of Oman in the indirect negotiations process and stated: "We appreciate the good efforts of the friendly and brotherly country of Oman in mediating the negotiations, and we hope that this process will lead to good results."

Emphasizing Oman's strategic position in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has full confidence in Oman; This trust makes the two sides more responsible for strengthening relations and pursuing understandings.

In this meeting, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq also welcomed the visit of the high-ranking delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and said: "I thank you for your kind words. By the grace of God, Oman is in a good position today, independent of oil and gas, and focusing on strengthening trade exchanges."

The Sultan of Oman added: "I agree with you that if the path of business activity is opened, we will witness a meaningful leap in the relations between the two countries. The relations between the ports of Iran and Oman must be developed, and the railway capacity of the north to the south of Iran is also very important for us from a commercial perspective."

Referring to the existing security and military relations between the two countries, he stated: "In the area of ​​negotiations, Muscat is also seriously pursuing the path and considers the success of the Islamic Republic of Iran a success for the region. There should be more support for cooperation in the field of energy between the two countries, and we welcome any cooperation with Iran, especially in the military fields and common interests."

The Sultan of Oman, appreciating the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s trust in Oman’s mediating role, emphasized: “We do not pursue any personal interests or interests in this process and have entered solely with benevolent intentions. Rest assured that his positions, which you convey to us, will be carefully and respectfully considered and followed up by us.”

In conclusion, while appreciating the principled positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in defending the Palestinian people, he stated: “Standing up for the rights of the Palestinian people and defending oppressed citizens is valuable and commendable for us.”
