PEZSHKIAN: Expertise is important, not being on the same side!

The president said at the National Productivity Conference: "No theory will solve our problem if those who must act are unwilling or unaware. Our country needs competent managers, not like-minded managers."

According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr News Agency, Masoud Pshkian, at the National Productivity Conference of Iran this afternoon (Sunday), emphasizing the necessity of transformation within humans, made the noble verse “Indeed, Allah does not change what is in a people until they change what is in themselves” the center of his speech and said: Changing a society begins from within humans. Allah does not change any nation unless that nation itself desires transformation.

Stating that this Quranic rule is true not only at the macro level, but also in individual life, education, employment, and organizational responsibilities, the President added: If we accept the current situation, we will remain in this situation; but if we seek a better situation, then the possibility of creating transformation will be provided.

Referring to the verse “He created death and life that He may test you as to which of you is best in deed,” Mezikian reminded: We have come to this world for the best of deeds, and this best of deeds does not begin with accepting the current situation. The first step is to not accept that the current position is the position we should be in.

The President added: Our problem today is not in policies or programs, but in our way of looking at and acting. In the vision that the Supreme Leader has outlined, we should have been leading and inspiring in the region in the fields of economy, science, and technology. Are we like this now? If not, why aren’t we?

Mezikian criticized the factional and partisan approach in the country’s management and stated: Have we asked whether such and such a manager is capable of carrying out his responsibility or not? Instead, we have only asked, “Is he with us or not?” Which of you, when you get sick, seeks out a doctor who is of the same party and is on the same page? You all seek out a specialist, even if he disagrees with you, because you value your life.

The President clarified: Our country, society, and people are more valuable than my life. I have no right to make a decision that will harm them. If such a view develops in me, I will no longer seek out a party or faction, but rather I will seek out someone who can solve the problem, even if he disagrees with me.

Referring to some biased propaganda abroad to create a crisis in the Islamic Republic, the President said: “Do those who are sitting across the border and wish for the collapse of Iran care about us? None of them are the well-wishers of this nation.”

Emphasizing that the problem of our country is not theory, but the lack of those who “know”, “can” and “want” to act, the President said: “Those who know and can, must find a field.”

Referring to global principles and strategies in the field of productivity, Pezizian said: “Based on a review of the experience of 40 countries around the world, three common principles, namely “responsibility”, “type of work” and “accountability”, have existed in all successful reforms. Also, out of the five known strategies, at least two or three have been implemented simultaneously.”

Criticizing the country’s inefficient administrative structure, the President stated: “Currently, in our institutions, it is not clear who is responsible for what and how they should be held accountable in case of failure to perform their duties. These three principles must be clarified and implemented at all levels of management.”

Stating that human resource performance management and performance-based budgeting are among these strategies, Pezizian clarified: Why does someone who doesn’t work get paid? And why is there no difference between hardworking and underemployed people? We are currently trying to implement performance-based budgeting and have invited universities to participate.

Criticizing the injustice in the distribution of benefits, the President said: “In some cases, underemployed people enjoy all the benefits, and someone who is engaged in real work doesn’t even get to lunch because he doesn’t have time for it. This unfair structure must be reformed.”

Pezizian described the transfer of authority to the private sector as another strategy, saying: “Of course, these transfers must be done carefully and gradually, and there is no zero to one hundred.”

In conclusion, the President emphasized that Iran is no less than other countries and stated: When we see countries that have succeeded, we must learn, reform our behavior, gain knowledge and awareness, and believe that our position is much higher than the current situation. If this belief is formed, we can create a transformation that many consider impossible.

Pezizian emphasized: Productivity begins with ourselves, not with books and articles. God will not accept our excuses for weakness and incompetence on the Day of Judgment. We must rise, change, and build a country that is inspiring and pioneering in the horizon of the vision that has been drawn.
