According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr News Agency, President Masoud Pezzekian stated at the ceremony of renewing the statesmen's covenant with the ideals of Imam Khomeini (RA) at the holy shrine of the founder of the Islamic Revolution on the occasion of the State Week, remembering the late Imam and the martyrs of the 12-Day War and congratulating the arrival of the month of Rabi' al-Awwal: Here, I intend to recall the discussions that Imam (RA) and the Supreme Leader had, the basic emphases and guidelines they gave, and the kindness they had towards us and the state, which makes our burden, work, and duty heavier so that we can achieve the goals we have in mind, which are the goals of the revolution and the path of Imam Khomeini.

He added: Imam Ali (AS) tells Malik Ashtar in his order that all disputes, wars, and disagreements begin with the desires of the ego. If we can control our desires, there will be no disputes or disagreements. Holding back the ego means observing fairness. Let us observe fairness between this party, group, and nation, and between those who are not in this group or movement.

The President emphasized: If we can observe fairness in our behavior, we can be very effective in serving society. Your duty as governments is to love the people, and this must come from within us. Our duty is to serve the people, and we have no other duty; that is, we must be able to serve the people with this belief, whatever we have and can, and try to untie the knots of the people with unity and cohesion as much as possible, and not treat people with violence and bad morals.

Referring to the continuation of the command of Imam Ali (AS) to Malik Ashtar, Pezizian stated: People are either religious brothers with us or we were created in the same way and equally. Imagine if we treat people well like this, whether they are Turks, Lors, Arabs, Persians, Balochs, Gilaks, Shiites, Sunnis, or whoever they are and live in this society, we should treat them with brotherhood.

The President continued by referring to the order of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, to Malik Ashtar and stating other parts of it: When people get caught or do something they should not have done, they should be treated with forgiveness and mercy. Now, if they intentionally make a mistake or do something, it is necessary to treat them with forgiveness and mercy; just as we would like God to treat us with mercy on the Day of Judgment.

Stating that the government officials are above the people, while the governor is also above the government officials, and God is above all of us, he said: We are in this position to serve the people, and I said this as a reminder so that we know that our existence and position are to serve the people and resolve their problems and knots. In many places, if there are problems, it is because of our shortcomings, incompetence, differences, and disputes.

The President stated: If there is success, it is in fact the presence of the people and the forgiveness and mercy of God that has caused this success. Imam Ali (AS) says that do not put yourself in front of God, meaning that treating people badly means fighting God. Imam Ali (AS) says, you cannot stand before God and you cannot be far from God's forgiveness and mercy. That is, if we do not treat people with forgiveness and mercy, we have angered and upset God.

He added: Today, at the shrine of Imam and here, our commitment, vision, and belief should be to serve our beloved people with faith and belief in the field of action. Those who know and can and can do something, it is necessary for us to ask for help to overcome all the problems we are struggling with, and we should not eliminate or set them aside.

To solve the problems, Pezizian emphasized: "Everyone who can and is able to solve our problems should untie the knot of our problems. We should try and get help from him to hold our hand and solve the problems."

We should not fight for power, the fight should be for service.

The President said: "All our fights are from egos, [the views of] factions, groups, and our own party, while different currents should be present and everyone should express their opinion, and in the field of action, whoever can do better should be accepted. My view is different from the view of others, your view is different from mine, but in the field of action, perhaps the path that the other side takes is better than my way. So we should let that path be taken and improved. When a person sees that that path is better, he will automatically be attracted to the path that is more appropriate, less costly, more qualitative, and more satisfying."

He added: "We should not fight for power, the fight should be for service." Service is in this field. We have a water problem. Sometimes people say that we have no problem. Well, whoever says we have no problem, let him come and solve the problem.

The President stated: If we do not act based on knowledge and awareness, we are to blame. God has given us insight and reason. If someone can use this insight, they will be saved, and if they do not, we are to blame for any misfortune that befalls us. It is we who can fix it and it is we who can ruin it because of our own weaknesses, egos, and ego.

He stated: This is a heavy burden that is placed on us, the government, and the group of loved ones who have been placed in the field of action. We must help God so that we can continue this path with strength, dignity, and pride and solve the problems and knots in society.

The President emphasized: I believe with all my heart that we are capable. Iran and our people are capable of doing this, provided that we join hands with each other and act based on reason, prudence, science, awareness and knowledge.

He added: Leadership is what can protect us from all the harm and attacks of the enemy. In my opinion, first and last is our unity and cohesion. Going behind the podium and using our tongues to inflict whatever bad things come to others is not service. Any word that causes the cohesion of the country, the cohesion of Muslims and our neighbors to be disrupted is betrayal of the path that must be taken.

Creating division within the country or among Islamic countries is serving Israel.

The President stated: Israel and America are trying their best to pit us against each other at home and Muslims in the countries of the region. We must accept this, that we should not disagree with each other. We should not approach our neighbors through the door of bad temper and bad character. They are our brothers.

He continued: One day, it was mentioned in the media that who said these are our brothers? I say these are our brothers. They have been with us in water and land, now they have drawn a border. Just as I have a house and you have a house, everyone is the ruler of their own house. They are the rulers of their own, but we are brothers together, so all our neighboring countries are our brothers, our neighbors, our people and relatives. These distances and divisions were created by the imperialists and power-seekers. Muslims must unite against the enemy. The idea of creating division within the country or among Islamic countries is serving Israel.

He emphasized: If we have unity, the enemy will not dare to look at Muslims with a left eye. This is something we must strive for, join hands, help and show in practice that we want to serve the people with all our hearts.

The President said: We are neither looking for position nor for power and status. We offer what we can with sincerity and try to solve the existing problems as much as possible.

Referring to the Supreme Leader's statements yesterday in support of the government's efforts and service, Pezizian said: Once again, I wholeheartedly appreciate the Supreme Leader and his guidelines yesterday, and we still feel the heavy burden of this responsibility on our shoulders. We hope to solve the existing problems with empathy, cooperation, common thinking, unity, and cohesion. It is my belief that we are capable of solving the problems and we must continue the path with dignity and pride and abandon differences, grudges, and sarcasm.

The President noted: These words of mine were meant to remind us because we all know them. We have no choice but to say them so that they become a belief because there is a very large gap between words and actions. We talk about justice and kindness well, but in practice we are far from it, so we must repeat it so much that it becomes the queen of our existence and in practice we must help each other to find the path and place where we went wrong, so that we are on the path with unity and cohesion.

He added: We must try to be as united as possible to solve the problems of the people, we will not give up any effort and we will not give up. Whether at home or in neighboring and Muslim countries, we will try to make unity and cohesion stronger and stronger day by day.
