The commander of the IRGC's Quds Force emphasized that the Zionist regime's request for a ceasefire indicates its inability to disarm Hezbollah in military operations, and for this reason, it is seeking political solutions.
According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr News Agency, Brigadier General Ismail Qaani, commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, appeared on the program Ham-Ahed, stating that when the start of the operation in Gaza was announced, Haniyeh was on his way to the airport to travel to Iraq and was actually informed on his way back. He stated: This operation was carried out by Hezbollah, in fact, as a divine, Islamic and religious duty and in line with the defense of the oppressed, with the prudence, wisdom and correct decision of the martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
General Qaani added: Hezbollah played a serious and effective role in supporting and supporting the Palestinian resistance and carried out a series of operations against the settlers in the north of the occupied territories.
He added: On the day of the start of Operation "Al-Aqsa Storm" on October 7, when I arrived in Lebanon, I was thinking to myself how I should talk to Sayyed Hassan about this incident and what I should or should not do. But before I could begin speaking, I saw that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had been deeply absorbed in the thought of his religious and divine duty from the very moment the operation began.
The commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force noted: “The remarkable thing was that neither we, nor Sayyed Hassan, nor even the main leaders of Hamas were aware of the exact time of this operation. When the start of the operation in Gaza was announced, Haniyeh was on his way to the airport to travel to Iraq and was actually informed on his way back.
He continued: “The steadfastness and resourcefulness of the commanders present in Gaza showed that this sensitive operation required special precision and planning. As the Leader of the Revolution said, “I kiss the foreheads of those who carried out this great deed,” this statement expresses the wisdom and greatness of their action. While no one was aware of the start of the operation, the martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had carefully and systematically specified the required steps.
General Qaani emphasized: Martyr Nasrallah, understanding the social conditions of Lebanon, coordinated the start of the operation with precise timing and decided to start it at night when the southern region would be quieter. This choice was a clear example of his wise and dutiful strategy, which was implemented quickly and successfully.
The leader of the resistance showed steadfastness in the face of the pager incident
The commander of the IRGC Quds Force added: Until his martyrdom, Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah challenged the Zionists in psychological and military warfare at critical moments with strategy and steadfastness. During a period of nearly two weeks without a speech, he terrified the Zionist regime and showed that he was in control of all aspects of the war, from the military to the psychological. In the bitter incident of the pager explosion that left thousands of martyrs and wounded, Sayyed Nasrallah stood with exemplary steadfastness and emphasized by uttering a historic sentence that if our society had not had Imam Hussein, these calamities would not have been tolerable.
He said: His spiritual and strategic vision kept Hezbollah and the people stable in the most difficult conditions. Despite concerns for his life, extensive protective measures were taken, but in the end, martyrdom was the fate of this great leader.
The commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force stated: The Zionist regime could not withstand the pressures of Hezbollah, which had engaged one-third of its army in southern Lebanon, and upset the equation of war. After a series of crimes, from the martyrdom of commanders to the pager explosion incident, the great crime of the martyrdom of Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah finally occurred.
General Qaani recalled: In addition to heavy bombs, chemical agents were also used in this attack, which turned it into a clear war crime. Martyr Sayyid Nasrallah was known not only as the leader of Hezbollah, but also as the steadfast mountain of Lebanon; a mountain on which people, both Shiites and non-Shiites, relied in the most difficult situations.
Hezbollah stood firm despite global pressure
The commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force emphasized: “In a situation where Hezbollah’s main commanders were martyred one after another and the Pager incident had dealt a heavy blow to the Shiite community and the resistance, the Zionist regime launched the toughest war in its history against Hezbollah. This unequal battle was not limited to the Israeli army alone; the US, NATO, and even some states claiming to be Islamic were behind it, and all the military tools in the world were placed at the regime’s disposal.”
He added: “During the 66 days of the war, despite unprecedented pressure, Hezbollah stood firm and achieved a unique achievement in the history of the resistance. Even at the height of the attacks, the intensity of the enemy’s fire exceeded many heavy operations in past wars, but the resistance remained intact.”
The commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force said: “In the 2006 war, the Zionist regime exerted unprecedented pressure on Hezbollah forces using artillery, mortars, aircraft, and advanced drones.” Unlike regular wars where enemy fire would cease when troops moved, in this battle enemy fire never stopped and drones with high precision and advanced weapons targeted every movement of troops. The enemy's reaction speed was so fast that the distance between firing and mortars hitting occurred in a fraction of a second. This operation, despite the widespread threats and crimes against civilians in southern Lebanon, was an unprecedented experience in modern battles.
Stating that centralized planning kept Hezbollah forces alive, General Qaani said: The intensity of the fire in this war was such that it is considered the most unprecedented fire in all wars in the world. What kept Hezbollah forces alive was the centralized and precise planning of operations.
He noted: Each region had different units and separate headquarters, and even the smaller units, called "Baqa'a", had a specific mission, a funding line, the necessary facilities, and fully justified and self-sufficient individuals who carried out the operation without the need for direct orders. In addition to the intensity of the operation, it was very difficult to deliver facilities in such conditions, but despite the existing limitations, Hezbollah forces were able to resist the Zionist army, which was supported by all world powers, for 66 days.
The commander of the IRGC's Quds Force concluded by saying: "No powerful army in the world can resist such an enemy with such a volume of facilities and crimes. Here, Hezbollah's greatness and resistance are clearly visible."
