He noted that the mosque will be a prominent spiritual, artistic and cultural landmark on the Al-Dhahariz coast in Salalah.
He added that the use of 3D printing technology will help reduce material waste and speed up the implementation; in addition, it will incorporate sustainable elements such as natural lighting, renewable energy, the use of local materials suitable for the coastal climate, and the cultivation of plants that are resistant to salinity and wind. He stressed the importance of this initiative and its role in promoting the sustainable urban identity of the province.
He added that the oval-shaped prayer hall has a skylight in the middle of the building that uses natural light and has an innovative architectural style; while the design of the minaret is inspired by the Omani sail and the traditional oud torch, and is adorned with the Islamic crescent symbol, embodying Islamic identity with a contemporary feel.
Upon completion, the mosque is expected to be a prominent urban and spiritual landmark that combines authenticity and modernity, reflecting Dhofar Governorate's position as a sustainable and modern destination that preserves its cultural identity while keeping pace with the future.
