According to Ashura News, citing Mehr News Agency, the Iraqi Developments Telegram channel reported that shortly after the end of voting in today's Iraqi parliamentary elections, Muqtada al-Sadr, as the biggest herald of the election boycott, issued a new statement.

تهدید تلویحی مقتدی صدر؛ «گلوله رحمت» به چه معناست؟!

He issued three statements today under his own name, and his spokesman (Saleh Musleh al-Iraqi) responded to ten messages. But among these messages, Muqtada al-Sadr’s recent statement is of far greater importance.

The important parts of this statement are as follows:

Although we ordered a boycott of the elections, we never sought to obstruct the voting process; because we are not seeking power, but rather seeking to save the homeland.

The voting ended without any particular problem. The only problem today was the low volume of voters compared to the high volume of boycotted voters; those who did not participate in selling the homeland and bringing back the same [and ineffective] figures. May God reward them.

From today - without any excuse - the responsibility lies with those who benefited from these votes; to return Iraq to its true position and save it from the current crisis and foreign interference.

The winning parties in the elections are also obliged to protect the Iraqi people from unregulated and illegitimate weapons, so that weapons are exclusively in the hands of the security forces, including the Hashd, without the existence of armed groups outside the framework of the law.

They are obliged to protect Iraq from external threats from enemies, without resorting to surrender and compromises that undermine the rights of the nation and the Mujahideen.

It is also their responsibility to stand up to the corrupt with seriousness and honesty and expose the cases of corruption and the corrupt.

Otherwise, the bullets of mercy will hit the body of democracy.

Our homeland is facing internal and external dangers; dangers that have caused disorder in the performance of duties and the violation of rights.

We will not remain silent in the face of this situation in the future, because we still demand reform and saving Iraq from ruin.
