According to Ashura reporting from FarsNews:

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammd Baqer Qalibaf said that his country will not forget US President-elect Joe Biden’s cooperation with Obama in imposing sanctions against Iran, saying that his moves and not words are important to Tehran.

“The bad record and clear positions by Biden and his advisors (against Iran) have shown us that Biden’s signature is not a guarantee for us either and merely the practical measures by Biden’s government is important to us,” Qalibaf said, addressing an open session of the parliament in Tehran on Sunday.

He added that Iran will welcome Biden’s measures if sanctions are remove to have its oil exports, banking activities and trade by the Iranian companies with their counterparts in other parts of the world go back to normal, but meantime stressed, “Although we are not optimistic about it.”

“The Iranian people have not forgotten how the Obama-Biden government moved to impose crippling sanctions by creating a complicated structure and imposed the harshest sanctions pressure on the Iranian people and when then failed in these crippling sanctions, they were forced to promise to remove the sanctions and did not keep their promise and practically kept the sanctions structure by promoting fear of sanctions; then Trump could increase the pressures based on the same sanctions structure and actually harvested what Obama and Biden had sown,” Qalibaf said.

In relevant remarks earlier this month, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani lauded his nation for their resistance against the US pressures and sanctions in the past 3 years, expressing the hope that the new administration in the White House would take lesson from the past failures and rejoin the nuclear deal.

“People faced economic terrorism in the past three years and showed competent resistance and patience. Our country’s decision is clear and our nation will continue its patience and resistance until the other side bows to the law and rules,” President Rouhani said, addressing a meeting of the national coronavirus campaign headquarters in Tehran.

“We hope that conditions alter in a way that those who have imposed sanctions will come to realize that they have moved along a wrong path, and that they will not attain their goals at all as they should take a lesson from this 3-year experience for the future US government to bow to the laws and rules and return to all its undertakings and (the Iranian) people would witness and feel the prize of their patience and resistance,” he added.
