Araqchi and Italian counterpart hold consultations on Rome talks

In response to a phone call from Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, who is abroad, our country's Foreign Minister informed him of the outcome of today's talks.

According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr News Agency, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who has traveled to Rome to participate in the fifth round of indirect Iran-US talks, in response to a phone call from Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, who is abroad, informed him of the outcome of today's talks.

The Foreign Minister of our country, while thanking his Italian counterpart for cooperating with Oman to hold this round of talks in Rome, described today's talks as professional and reasonable and expressed hope that by creating a clearer understanding of the principled positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the American side, tangible progress can be achieved.

The phone conversation also discussed developments in the West Asian region, especially the continuation of the genocide in occupied Palestine, and emphasized the need for urgent action to stop the killings and provide assistance to the displaced people.

Referring to the killing of more than sixty thousand innocent people in the last two years and the complete destruction of the Gaza Strip, the Foreign Minister of our country called this situation a complete disaster for humanity and criticized the all-out support of the United States and some other Western countries for the Zionist regime, emphasizing the responsibility of all governments to help end the genocide and send immediate humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The Italian Foreign Minister, while appreciating Iran's responsible approach to diplomacy and thanking the Foreign Minister of our country for informing him about the results of the fifth round of talks, announced Italy's readiness to continue assisting in this process.
