According to Ashura News, citing ISNA, a joint meeting of high-ranking delegations of Iran and Pakistan was held in the presence of President Masoud Pezzekian and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif of Pakistan.
During the meeting, Pezzekian expressed his satisfaction with the Pakistani Prime Minister's visit and hosting of the meeting, describing the relations between the two countries as rooted in common history, culture, and religion.
Referring to the high status of Allama Iqbal Lahori, a prominent Pakistani poet and thinker of the Islamic world, the President stated: “The profound and awakening themes of his poems, all of which are based on calling Muslims to unity, brotherhood, and independence from foreigners, have always been an inspiration to me and indicate the deep cultural ties between the two nations.”

Pezizian considered the current level of economic relations between Tehran and Islamabad, despite being positive, not commensurate with the great capacities and deep ties between the two nations, and said: These relations must be improved and be worthy of the status of the two countries.
Referring to the importance of banking and financial infrastructure as a platform for trade development, the President stated: Strengthening monetary and banking relations can pave the way for an economic leap in bilateral relations. Islamic countries are large markets for each other, and by exchanging scientific, technological, and academic experiences, they can resolve many of their internal problems; achieving this goal requires common will.
Emphasizing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s commitment to brotherhood with Islamic countries, Pezizian announced Tehran’s full readiness to cooperate with Pakistan in all areas, adding: Today, European countries have removed the borders between them and have benefited from the benefits of extensive communications, while Islamic countries were expected to be pioneers in this direction and create comprehensive economic, scientific, and cultural frameworks among themselves.
Referring to the significant population of the Islamic world and the unparalleled capabilities of the Islamic Ummah, the President added: While the Islamic Ummah is faced with such capabilities, the Zionist occupying regime, with its criminal actions, is killing the oppressed people of Palestine and creating a crisis for Islamic countries.
Stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always emphasized peace, stability, and security in the region and the world, Pezizian stated: Regarding the tension between India and Pakistan, we believe that this issue should not lead to military confrontation and the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to take any action that will contribute to peace and tranquility in the region.
