Envoy: Iran Protests at British MPs’ Biased Report

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Ambassador to London Hamid Baeidinejad condemned a “biased” report by the British parliament’s foreign affairs committee on Iran, describing it as illegitimate and worthless.

According to ashoora reporting from Fars news:

“We condemn in the strongest term a report issued on developments regarding Iran by a few UK MPs. This report is not more than advocating regime change through maximum pressure policy against Iran, while the main architect of this failed policy is driven out of the White House,” Baeidinejad wrote on his twitter page on Wednesday.

“The report is illegitimate and worthless and its coordinator is the mouthpiece of Monafeqin (as members of Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization terrorist group are called in Iran) and the streams which pursue regime change plans (against Iran),” he added.

Baeidinejad said that the Iranian mission in London has sent a protest letter to the British foreign office to deplore the report.

The British parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee published a report titled ‘No prosperity without justice: the UK’s relationship with Iran’.

The report underlines the need for the UK Government to foster a long-term, international response that addresses what it calls Iran’s wider destabilizing activities.
