The Foreign Ministry spokesman tonight, while rejecting the baseless claims in the statement of the Gulf Cooperation Council summit regarding the three Iranian islands and the Arash gas field, stated: "A baseless claim to part of a country's territory does not change the geographical and historical realities, and does not create any legal rights for the claimant."

According to Ashura News, citing Fars News Agency, baseless claims about the three Iranian islands, as well as claims about the Arash gas field, were strongly condemned by Iran in the final statement of the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council summit. In its statement, the Gulf Cooperation Council once again repeated the baseless claim about the three Iranian islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa, as well as the claim that Saudi Arabia and Kuwait own the Arash gas field.

* Iran's effective, continuous and undisputed sovereignty over the three islands

Esmail Baghaei, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed regret tonight (Thursday), December 4, over the Gulf Cooperation Council's insistence on repeating the United Arab Emirates' baseless and incorrect claim regarding the Iranian islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb, and condemned the claims contained in the final statement of the 46th summit of the Council regarding these Iranian islands. He called the Iranian islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb inseparable parts of Iran's territorial territory and stated: Any territorial claim against them is fundamentally baseless and invalid and is clearly contrary to the principle of respecting the territorial integrity of countries and good neighborliness. The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recalling Iran's effective, continuous and undisputed sovereignty over these three islands over many centuries, stated: Repeating an unfounded claim against a part of a country's territory does not change the geographical and historical realities, and does not give the claimant any legal rights. Does not create.

* The UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council should avoid provocative positions

Emphasizing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s policy of good neighborliness and cooperation with neighboring countries in order to strengthen relations and protect the security and stability of the region, Baqai called on the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf Cooperation Council to avoid adopting provocative positions that are contrary to good neighborliness regarding Iran.

* Arash Gas Field

The Foreign Ministry spokesman also emphasized the pursuit of the Islamic Republic of Iran's rights in the Arash oil field, calling unilateral claims about this field invalid and clarified that issuing repeated statements and making unilateral claims does not create any rights for the Kuwaiti government from a legal perspective, and reaching a fair and lasting agreement regarding this field requires bilateral dialogue, joint efforts, and creating a positive and constructive atmosphere to ensure mutual benefits. The Gulf Cooperation Council statement stated that any action by Iran in these islands, including construction activities and the presence of official officials, is contrary to international law. The Gulf Cooperation Council has also once again claimed regarding the Arash (Al-Darrah) gas field that "the full ownership of this field is in the hands of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait" and "no other party has any right to it." On September 1, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran completely rejected the repeated and legally invalid claims of the Gulf Cooperation Council regarding the three Iranian islands contained in the statement of the 165th meeting of the Council's foreign ministers.
