The President said: "Today, some countries think that Iran has become weak and that they can put pressure on it, but what they do not understand is that the Iranian people will never be humiliated."
According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr News Agency, Masoud Pezzekian stated this Saturday evening in a meeting with a group of donors and officials of charitable institutions: "In your company, I feel both sadness and pride. Sadness because there are still problems that people are struggling with, and pride because noble and philanthropic people are doing their best to solve the problems of the people."
Referring to the role of donors in developing social infrastructure, the President noted: The issue is not whether governments have money or not, the issue is whether they trust the people or not! During my time at the university, when we were responsible for the health of the people, our province was in an inappropriate situation in terms of health and medical facilities and was among the last provinces among the 24 provinces. There was no money and we had limited credits, but we did not want to accept that it was not possible to serve the people.
Referring to successful experiences in public participation, Pezizkian stated: When we were facing health and medical problems in the province, the only way that came to our mind was to trust the people. The people of good will and even the workers and villagers, whoever they could, helped in this direction. Some big benefactors used their capital, others contributed with their labor force, and as a result, within six months, 613 health houses were built, and 300 to 400 more centers were established.
The special role of benefactors in building hospitals
Referring to the special role of benefactors in building hospitals, the President added: The 500-bed Mardani Azar Hospital, which is today one of the most important medical centers in the region, was built with the efforts and direct investment of the late Mardani Azar. Khair Nobari also built a specialized cancer hospital at his own expense. These hospitals, which today serve hundreds of patients, are an example of the impact of public participation in eliminating the country's health and medical deficiencies.
Emphasizing that the government alone cannot solve all problems, Pezizkian noted: Our responsibility requires us to find solutions to meet the needs of the people. We cannot wait for one or two benefactors to take action to build a school or a hospital. This view is far removed from the realities of implementation. We must believe that great things can be done with public participation and the support of popular institutions.
Referring to his trip to Sistan and Baluchestan and the need to accelerate the development of the province’s educational infrastructure, the President stated: During that trip, Mr. Mahdavi said that the construction of these schools would take 40 years, but our response was that these schools would be built next year, because we have the people and we believe that they can do this. Today, these projects are being implemented, and we continue to follow up so that we can establish more contact with the people and get their help for this great goal.
The importance of the people's role in the development of education
Emphasizing the importance of the people's role in the development of education, the doctors noted: If we trust in the power of the people and their participation, many of the problems we face today will be solved in the shortest possible time. We are seeking to put our children on the right path. The children of these people should not wander the streets and struggle with social problems and harms. If we strengthen education, many social problems will be resolved automatically.
Referring to the consequences of neglecting education, the President stated: If we fail to educate the future generation, we will have a society full of challenges that will be difficult to manage, but if we invest in education today, we will create a different future for the country.
The doctors noted: The fate of the country is in the hands of these children. If we educate them properly, we will have a bright future, but if we neglect our responsibility towards them, today's problems will multiply.
The President, referring to the role of the people in crisis management and running the country, stated: Throughout history, it was the people who stood firm in the most difficult circumstances. During the war, it was the students who abandoned their studies and went to the fronts. The war was managed by these people, the Basij, the IRGC, and the army all made efforts, but the real power was in the hands of the people. No force, even if the whole world was behind it, could defeat the people. Today, some countries, such as the United States and some European countries, think that Iran has become weak and that they can pressure it, but what they do not understand is that the Iranian people will never be humiliated. If we have empathy and unity, we can overcome all the problems and build the country.
Emphasizing the role of education and health in the development of the country, Pezizkian stated: Physical infrastructures are as important as buildings, but the essence of the matter is something else. When we were building health centers, our only concern was not building a building. We were looking for how to manage the system, how to provide services, and how to properly formulate programs. Years of time were spent training human resources, optimizing management methods, and reforming service delivery methods.
Referring to the need for transformation in the education system, the President noted: Today, in the field of education, teams are working to reform new teaching methods and methods of transferring knowledge, skills, and beliefs to students. University professors and experts in the field of education are used to design more efficient methods for scientific, skill, and belief education.
Misguided View of the Concept of Elite
Criticizing the misguided view of the concept of elite, Medesian stated: What is the point if our education merely leads to the production of knowledge without social commitment? What is the value of educating an elite that does not think about its people? Today, many students are thinking about emigrating from the very beginning of their education. For someone to only think about leaving the country and not feel a sense of belonging to this land and people is the result of a flaw in the education system.
Emphasizing the educational role of schools, the President stated: Our schools must educate students who, in addition to knowledge and skills, also have commitment and belief. A person who has reached a place at the expense of these people should not only think about leaving. He must feel responsible and strive for his country and people.
Medesian noted: Education should act in a way that, in addition to transferring knowledge, also shapes the behavior and attitude of students. We are working on these issues, but this process takes time. It is important to see exactly where the path needs to be reformed and how we can direct education in a direction that is both scientific, practical, and based on social commitment and responsibility.
Emphasizing the importance of ensuring the health and well-being of the people, the President stated: Most of my time is spent on issues related to the health and well-being of the people, because this is our main responsibility. We are obliged to see all people in the same light and distribute services fairly. We should not concentrate facilities only in areas where people already have family, financial, and social support. We are primarily responsible for those who have no one, for areas that are on the margins and are not visible.
Referring to the management challenges in the country, the doctors noted: The extent to which problems can be solved in a given period of time depends on management decisions. From a scientific and management perspective, what could I have done that I have not done so far? The answer is clear; Despite all the obstacles, we have tried our best to keep the path of service open. With these differences and conflicts, we still cry out to stand together, but instead, some only seek to instill failure. Even if we fail a hundred times, as long as we are alive, we will build the country with internal unity and healthy relations with neighbors.
The need for national solidarity
The President emphasized the need for national solidarity and stated: This is our belief, this is our conviction, and we will act accordingly. Even if others destroy us, we will still extend a helping hand to them, because the country can only be built with unity and cooperation. I cannot build this country alone, but if we join hands, no problem will be insoluble. All the problems raised here can be solved with the participation of the people. Respecting the people and leaving the path open for those who want to help is an important principle that should not be overlooked.
Referring to his experience in managing development and medical projects, Pezizkian stated: “I have not come here to make campaign speeches and I am not asking for votes from anyone. The problems of the people are my main concern. I do not expect anyone to come and do everything, but if everyone helps to the extent of their ability, we can solve many problems.”
Emphasizing the role of public participation in the development of the country, the President noted: “We cannot wait for the country’s educational and medical infrastructure to be completed in 40 years. If we do not take action today, tomorrow will be too late. In the past, without government financial support, we built schools, hospitals, and medical centers with the participation of the people. I believe that we can do this and we will do it now.”
Referring to the experience of building health centers in deprived areas, Pezizkian stated: When health centers were built, one person was a mason, one was a laborer, one brought his tractor, and finally, what took two years was built in six months. During the same period, more than 900 health centers were built, while if this work were to be done solely with government funding, perhaps only 10 projects would have been completed.
The President noted: The country will be built with this spirit of participation and empathy. If we involve the people in the path of development, no obstacle can stop us.
Summarizing the topics discussed at the meeting with donors and officials of charitable institutions, Pezizkian stated: The responsibility we have today, whether in the field of health, housing, and other basic needs of the people, requires us to constantly seek practical solutions. The issue is not that there are problems, but rather how to find solutions and take action for them.
The necessity of will and commitment in solving the country's problems
Emphasizing the necessity of will and commitment in solving the country's problems, the President noted: If someone really wants to solve the people's problems, there are no obstacles for him. Today, all governors and executive directors are ready to cooperate. Those who are determined to serve will find the path, even if they face obstacles. Those who feel the pain of the people will also find the solution. If there is an obstacle on the path, they can bypass it, jump over it, or find a new way to overcome it.
Referring to the role of pain management in the country's management, Pezizian stated: Having pain means having a motivation to solve people's problems. The dear person who stood behind the podium today and felt pain was someone who has touched the people's pain. We need such people in the management of the country. Saadi says beautifully:
The sons of men are members of each other
They are one gem in creation
If time brings pain to one member
The other members are not left behind
The President, citing this poem, noted: If we cannot feel the people's pain, we cannot claim humanity. We are not here to take positions and positions, we are here to solve problems to the best of our ability. If we are to achieve power and position, but remain oblivious to the people's pain, this power has no value.
Pezizian concluded by emphasizing: All these years, we have been moving on the path of service with faith and conviction. Our goal is only to work for the people, nothing else. As long as we are in this position, our duty is to work to solve people's problems, and we will not shirk this responsibility until the last moment.
