Aref: By pursuing agreements, the level of relations with Tajikistan will reach several times the current level

The First Vice President expressed hope that by following up on the agreements and achievements made during his visit to Tajikistan, the level of relations and ties with this country will reach several times the current level.

According to Ashura News, citing ISNA, Mohammad Reza Aref, after returning to Tehran from his trip to Tajikistan, told reporters this afternoon (Friday) that Tajikistan has a special place in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and that our strategy is to develop cooperation with this country in all fields. He listed the presence and participation in the International Conference on the Protection of Glaciers and a bilateral meeting with the President and Prime Minister of Tajikistan as among the most important goals of this trip, and said: "In this conference, the Islamic Republic of Iran presented its positions with regard to the problems of water scarcity and environmental issues with countries around the world so that we can have regional cooperation to protect the environment and glaciers and the challenges of water scarcity."

The First Vice President, appreciating the hospitality of the Tajik government and people, added: "The negotiations with the Prime Minister and President of Tajikistan were held in a cordial atmosphere, and a strategic statement on expanding cooperation as a roadmap for developing cooperation was signed, along with four important documents and agreements in the fields of railways, science and technology, visa cancellation from 10 days to 30 days to facilitate tourism, along with the implementation of a railway line to Tajikistan, multilateral cooperation in the field of water, electricity and gas transportation, and cooperation in the field of technical and vocational education between the officials of the two countries."

He continued: "Given the many cultural and historical commonalities with Tajikistan, the High Committee will continue its activities in the field of civilizational, economic and cultural commonalities."

The First Vice President emphasized: "By pursuing the agreements and achievements during this visit, the level of relations and ties with Tajikistan will reach several times the current level, and especially the private sector, the two sides can have more serious cooperation."
