The presence of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH) in Iran and the holy city of Qom, thanks to his existence, continued the civilization-building movement of Imam Reza (PBUH), a movement whose foundations were laid on the path to creating a great Islamic civilization.
According to Ashura News, citing Mehr News Agency, on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of the noble Ahlul Bayt, Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH), we sat down with Hojjatoleslam Reza Gholami, Deputy Chairman of the Hedayat Foundation.
By explaining the outstanding dimensions of the personality, science, and struggle of this high-ranking lady and citing reliable historical and narrative sources, Hojjatoleslam Gholami explained the distinguished position of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH) among the descendants of the Imams, her role in supporting the guardianship and Imamate, and the lasting effects of her migration and burial in the city of Qom, which will be presented to the audience in detail below.
Regarding the death of Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH), the Deputy Chairman of the Hedayat Foundation said: Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH) was born in Medina in 173 AH. The precious daughter of Imam Musa Kazim (PBUH) and the great lady of the family of Infallibility and Purity, she was among the prominent figures who were especially honored among the descendants of the Imams due to her exalted position. Among the descendants of the Imam, there are only three noble ones whose pilgrimage certificates were issued by the infallible Imam: Hazrat Masoumeh (S), Hazrat Shah Cheragh (A), and Hazrat Abdul Azim Hassani (A). This issuance of pilgrimage certificates indicates their greatness and spiritual status.
He added: The title of “Masoumeh” was bestowed by Imam Reza (A), his noble brother, on Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (S). This title expresses the purity, cleanliness, and high spiritual status of this lady. Sheikh Abbas Qomi also referred to this issue in his works and considered it a sign of her unparalleled position among the women of the Ahl al-Bayt.
Hojjat al-Islam Gholami further stated: The name and memory of Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (S) as the standard bearer of chastity, faith, and guardianship has always inspired Muslim women and girls, and the pilgrimage to her holy shrine in the city of Qom is the center of love and devotion for Shiites all over the world.
The Deputy Chairman of the Hedayat Foundation stated that Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH) grew up in a family that was a mine of knowledge and wisdom and that her upbringing was shaped in such an environment. He stated: Many reliable Shiite sources have indicated that she was one of the narrators of the hadiths of the Ahlul Bayt (AS). For example, the noble hadith “Silsat al-Dhahab” has her name in its chain of narrators, and some versions have attributed the narration of this hadith to Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH).
He continued: According to the narration of Sheikh Abbas Qummi in the book Muntahi al-Amal and also what is mentioned in the book Uyun Akhbar al-Rida by Sheikh Saduq, Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH) was a narrator of hadiths from her father, Imam Musa al-Kazim (PBUH), and her brother, Imam Reza (PBUH).
Stating that he was a refuge and refuge for Shiites in his time and a base for answering people's scientific and ideological questions, Hojjat al-Islam Gholami clarified: Sometimes jurisprudential and theological issues were even referred to him and precise scientific answers were received; this indicated his high level of knowledge and ijtihad in various sciences.
Stating that Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH) lived during the Abbasid Caliphate and at the height of the political and social strife of that era, he stated: Her migration from Medina to Iran was not a mere family move, but rather a journey of doctrine and belief in order to support the position of Imamate and guardianship. This journey was carried out in support of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Rida (PBUH) and its nature was combative against the Abbasid Caliphate.
The Deputy Head of the Hedayat Foundation clarified: During this migration, Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH) moved from Marv to Iran and finally passed away in the city of Qom. His burial in Qom brought many blessings; the city later became a scientific base and center of Shiism. Today, Qom is still the refuge and sanctuary of the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.) school and the origin of Shiite authority.
He stated: According to historical narrations, when the news of Imam Reza (a.s.) being forced to travel to Iran and the possibility of his martyrdom was raised, a group of Alawites and Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.) set out to visit and assist him. Hazrat Fatimah Masoumeh (a.s.) was one of the most important figures in this caravan; both because of her close relationship with Imam Reza (a.s.), her spiritual status and high status, and the credibility of this influential migration that has remained in history.
The Deputy Head of the Hedayat Foundation stated that her presence and burial in the city of Qom established this city as a Shiite base and that the scientific, authoritative and ijtihad movement was established there. He said: The role of Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH) in this path was the continuation and continuation of the civilization-building movement of Imam Reza (PBUH), and with this journey and its effects in history, she became the helper and supporter of that Imam in consolidating the position of Imamate and strengthening the cultural and religious foundations of society.
Hujjat al-Islam Gholami stated that numerous narrations clearly show the spiritual and scientific position of Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH), and stated: In a hadith from Imam Reza (PBUH), it is stated: “Whoever visits Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH) in Qom is as if he has visited me.” Another narration from that Imam states: “Whoever visits her, Paradise will be given to him.” Visiting Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH) makes Paradise obligatory for the pilgrim.
He added: In one of the spiritual dreams attributed to the late Ayatollah Seyyed Shahabuddin Marashi Najafi, he was trying to find the burial place of Hazrat Zahra (PBUH). In the world of revelation, he was told: “Alaika bikarima Ahl al-Bayt”; May the pilgrimage of the noble Ahl al-Bayt, Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH) be upon you. This advice and revelation caused Ayatollah Marashi Najafi to perform her pilgrimage with complete etiquette and special observances and to show special care for this lady.
Hojjatoleslam Gholami concluded by pointing out: This exalted position indicates the spiritual connection of Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH) with the culture of pilgrimage, knowledge, and guardianship. Her presence in Iran and the holy city of Qom, by the grace of her existence, continued the civilization-building movement of Imam Reza (PBUH); A movement whose foundations were laid in the path of creating the great Islamic civilization, and its strengthening by this great lady, will pave the way for the promised emergence.
