A spokesman for the Hamas movement warned of an escalation of the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip after recent rains.
According to Ashura News, citing ISNA, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem called on Saturday for an immediate and decisive stance by international Islamic and Arab institutions, referring to the intensification of unbearable conditions in the Gaza Strip after recent rains.
He warned in a statement: "The humanitarian disaster that our compatriots in the Gaza Strip are experiencing has taken on more devastating dimensions with the arrival of winter. This situation requires a clear and immediate response from the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation based on the founding documents of these institutions."
Hazem Qassem continued, referring to the continuation of the all-out siege of Gaza: "The people of Gaza are victims of a real war of annihilation. This war continues even in the shadow of claims of a ceasefire with other means, including severely limiting humanitarian aid, preventing any reconstruction, and continuing the complete siege in very difficult and exhausting conditions."
