Mohammed al-Farah, a senior member of the Yemeni Ansarullah movement, stressed that the UN Security Council has become a tool to secure Western interests, and said that his country will not hesitate to defend its legitimate rights.
According to Ashura News, citing Al-Mayadeen, "Mohammed Al-Farah," a member of the political bureau of the Yemeni Ansarullah movement, said in response to the Security Council resolution on the one-year extension of sanctions against the country: "We will respond to anyone who attacks the interests of the Yemeni people or tries to harm their sovereignty and decision-making."
Al-Farah continued his speech by adding: "We will not hesitate to protect our rights and defend the religion and dignity of our people by all legitimate means."
He emphasized: "After years of ignoring the crimes of genocide in Gaza, the Security Council continues to present the worst example of double standards and has become a platform for sharing Western interests."
This senior member of the Ansarullah movement also said: "The abstention of Russia and China in the vote to extend the sanctions on Yemen in the Security Council is a position that reflects human and moral awakening." Although we had hoped that the position of Russia and China in the UN Security Council would be a final rejection and veto of the resolution, we appreciate the position of these two countries for rejecting the abuse of the Security Council and for restoring balance in the face of Western domination.
Mohammed Al-Farah noted: What the West and the US are doing in open support of the Israeli enemy shows that the sanctions they seek to impose on Yemen are nothing more than a tool to serve Zionist goals and punish the Yemeni people for standing with Gaza.
He concluded by emphasizing: We will continue our position without any hesitation against the domination of the US and the West over the nations and countries of our region.
Yesterday, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution according to which the sanctions on Yemen will be extended for another year.
These sanctions include financial measures and a travel ban within the framework of Resolution 2140.
In this resolution, which was passed with 13 votes in favor and two abstentions by Russia and China, the Security Council condemned Ansar Allah's attacks across borders and at sea, without mentioning the unilateral aggression by the United States, Britain, and the Zionist regime against Yemen, and called for an immediate halt to these attacks.
