The Foreign Ministry spokesman described the Israeli regime's air and drone attacks on residential areas in the southern suburbs of Lebanon on the eve of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr as a clear aggression against Lebanon's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr News Agency, Ismail Baghaei, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, described the Israeli regime’s air and drone attacks on residential areas in the southern suburbs of Lebanon on the eve of the Muslim Eid as a clear aggression against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon and strongly condemned it.
Referring to the repeated aggressions of the Israeli regime against Lebanon in the shadow of the silence and inaction of the United Nations Security Council, the Foreign Ministry spokesman noted the direct responsibility of the ceasefire guarantors, the United States and France, and emphasized that without the green light and overt and covert support of the United States, the Israeli regime cannot continue to so recklessly break the law and grossly violate the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law.
Baqaei also recalled the responsibility of the United Nations Security Council to confront the violation of peace and the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime, calling for practical action by the Council in line with its assigned duties according to the UN Charter, and stated: "The continuation of the Zionist regime's rebellion in the region and its aggression and occupation against Lebanon and other Islamic countries makes the reality even clearer than before that the only way to protect the independence and national sovereignty of countries is to strengthen their defense capabilities and resist honorably against this regime."
