- The Executive Vice President, referring to Iran's ratification of the Palermo Convention and the CFT, which has been removed from the Expediency Discernment Council's agenda after years, considered it the fruit of the President's efforts to promote national consensus and avoid fruitless confrontation.
According to Ashura News, citing IRNA, Mohammad Jafar Ghaempanah, the head of the presidential institution, posted a message on the X social network on Friday, October 1, 1404, referring to the re-draft and approval of Iran's accession to the Palermo Convention and the CFT, which has been removed from the Expediency Discernment Council's agenda after years. He wrote: "Although this was done with a great delay, the result of the President's efforts to promote national consensus and avoid confrontation is fruitless."
The Executive Vice President added: "Hopefully, by removing these obstacles, the difficult path to improving the economic situation will become smoother."
According to IRNA, the Expediency Discernment Council on Wednesday, after holding 4 meetings in the court and in joint commission meetings, agreed to Iran's accession to the CFT Convention on a conditional basis."
A meeting of the Advisory Council was held under the chairmanship of Ayatollah Amoli Larijani and attended by the heads of government, some members of the Guardian Council, the Minister of Economy and Finance, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to review the bill for the accession of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the International Convention on the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism (CFT).
