Even though the US President recently announced that the Israeli regime must stop its attacks on Gaza in order to implement the prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas, the Israeli army chief of staff announced that there is no ceasefire in Gaza.
According to Ashura News, quoting ISNA, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir visited the westernmost point in the Netzarim Corridor and spoke with soldiers and commanders.
Referring to the agreement negotiations, he said: “There is no ceasefire, but there has been a change in the operational situation. The Israeli political leadership is using the tools and achievements that you have achieved through military action and turning it into a political achievement. If the political effort is not successful, we will return to war.”
“This campaign is not over yet,” he said. If an agreement is reached, we will prepare and maintain the areas under our control, which will allow for full operational flexibility and return to any necessary location.”
“We hope to see the return of all 48 Israeli prisoners soon. This is a necessity,” Zamir added.
