The focus of the new works of the Forum for the Proximity of Religions on unity and modern Islamic civilization

Hojjatoleslam Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of the Assembly, visited the 36th Tehran International Book Fair by attending the Imam Khomeini (RA) prayer hall.

According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr News Agency, Hojjatoleslam Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of the Forum, stated on the sidelines of the 36th Tehran International Book Fair: Fortunately, by providing electronic books on the exhibition website, a suitable platform has been provided to provide services to audiences and visitors who make their purchases from electronic platforms. This measure is a great service that the book fair has provided and we should thank all its organizers.

Referring to the active presence of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Religions Publications in this period of the fair, he added: In proportion to the duties we are responsible for, we have tried to present our new collection of works, which this year will amount to twenty or so books, at the fair. The themes of these books are mainly related to the geography of the Islamic world, the unity of the Islamic Ummah, the single nation, the formation of the Islamic Union, and the new Islamic civilization, and works related to these topics have been presented at the Forum’s booth.

The Secretary General of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Religions also continued: In addition, there are comparative studies between Islamic sciences and religions in the collection of works presented at the exhibition, which have been well received by visitors. The reports that I have received indicate that the booth of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Religions has been very well received, and we hope that in the coming years we will witness greater effectiveness of these works in the Islamic world and the expansion of the activities of the forum in the field of publishing and books.

Dr. Shahriari then attended the publications booth of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Religions, was informed about the activities of this booth and the visitors' reception of the works published by the forum, and had a conversation with the officials of the booth. During this visit, members of the Social and Cultural Council of the Secretariat of the Planning Council of Sunni Religious Schools also attended the forum booth and took a souvenir photo with the Secretary General of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Religions.

Next, Dr. Shahriari visited the pavilion of the Republic of Yemen (Ministry of Culture and Tourism), had a conversation with the representatives of this pavilion, and received a commemorative gift from the pavilion.

After that, he visited the pavilion of the Al-Mustafa Al-Alamiyah Society and, in a cordial conversation with the officials of the pavilion, was informed about the latest scientific and cultural achievements of this institution.

The Secretary General of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Religions also visited several pavilions by attending the general publishers section and then went to the academic publishers hall. He visited the Samat Publications booth and had a conversation with the person in charge of this booth. Meanwhile, Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, the President of Islamic Azad University, also attended the visit and met with Dr. Shahriari and exchanged views on the new projects of the Azad University in the field of books and publishing.

A visit to the Islamic Azad University’s scientific publishing booth and getting acquainted with the latest publications of this collection were other parts of the program. Dr. Shahriari also visited the Samat Electronic Publishing booth and, in a conversation with the officials of this booth, was informed about the process of digitization and electronic publication of scientific resources.

He also visited the booth of the Islamic Revolution Publishing House, discussed the latest publications of this center and viewed the books on display. At the end of this visit, the Secretary General of the World Forum for the Study of the Islamic Studies University and Samat Publishing House also visited the booths.
