The International Television Network has repeatedly provided its antenna to violent terrorists with a proven track record.

According to Ashura News, citing Tasnim News Agency - With the intensification of the wave of American-Zionist seditions, riots, and disturbances in recent days, the role of hostile media in promoting terrorism and blatant violations of international law has once again been highlighted; in the meantime, Iran International Network has revealed its terrorist nature more than ever with its performance.

During recent events, counter-revolutionary media, especially Iran International TV Network, as one of the main propaganda horns of the West against Iran, have played an active role in intensifying psychological insecurity, instilling despair, and supporting violent movements by producing and rebroadcasting targeted content; an action that is a clear example of violating international laws and conventions related to combating terrorism.

Currently, there are about 20 regional and global conventions in the field of combating international terrorism. In the UK, Ofcom is responsible for regulating broadcasting, radio communications and supervising the activities of radio and television stations. All television networks are required to obtain a license from Ofcom to operate in the country. If they violate the terms of the license, their license will be revoked and their activities will be suspended.

Blatant violation of Ofcom rules

While the International Network claims to adhere to media rules in its charter, it has clearly violated Ofcom rules by openly supporting terrorist groups in interviews and production programs and openly promoting their positions.

As a London-based media outlet, the network is required to comply with Ofcom rules, but in practice it has also ignored the European Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism of 1977, the Additional Protocol of 2003 and UN Security Council Resolution 1373.

Psychological operations instead of information

Although this network claims to provide news coverage for Persian-speaking people and raise awareness, an examination of its performance shows that the main goal of its operators is to carry out psychological operations, pump fake news, create an atmosphere of intimidation and despair in society, and provide media services to terrorist groups and organizations, and promote violence.

Directly providing a platform to terrorist groups

Providing live broadcasts to the spokespersons of Takfiri groups such as the Ahwaz terrorist group, broadcasting the moment-by-moment speeches of Maryam Rajavi, the leader of the MKO group, under the title "Urgent", and providing media contact for the PJAK terrorist group, are clear examples of public support for violence, intimidation, incitement to disorder, and anti-Iranian criminal activities.

Legitimizing Terrorism

The Iran International Network has repeatedly provided its antenna to violent terrorists with a proven track record, providing them with the opportunity to justify and defend terrorist acts in the media.

The history of live broadcasting of the terrorist group MKO, justifying Ahwazi terrorism, supporting the terrorist attacks of Jaysh al-Adl, and the network's agents' explicit admission of organizing separatists and criminals, all constitute propaganda for terrorism and cooperation with terrorist acts under British law and are subject to prosecution.

Legal and International Documents

The 1937 Geneva Convention for the Suppression and Punishment of Terrorism, Article 2(4) of the UN Charter, the 1977 European Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism and its Additional Protocol of 2003, the 2003 Comprehensive Convention on the Suppression of International Terrorism and UN Security Council Resolution 1373 all provide the necessary legal basis for a complaint against Iran International Network.

However, Ofcom claimed in a 13-page report dated April 2019 that the network had made up for its initial violation with subsequent corrective measures and was not entitled to legal action; while Article 1 of the 1937 Geneva Convention defines terrorist acts as “criminal acts committed against a State with the intention of causing terror in individuals, groups or the community”.

Explicit examples of terrorist acts

In various articles of this convention, acts such as causing loss of life, deprivation of liberty, endangering the lives of people, destruction of public property, production and storage of weapons and explosives, as well as incitement, conspiracy and knowing participation in criminal acts are mentioned as examples of terrorism.

Considering the recent ISIS-like riots and crimes, all the violations of the aforementioned conventions and international laws have been realized by this American-Zionist propaganda network, and this issue places Iran International among the terrorist media and promoters of terrorism.
