Babol - The Deputy Governor and Special Governor of Babol announced the details of the funeral and burial ceremony of the world champion Imam Ali Habibi.
According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr reporter, Seyyed Mustafa Mirtabar explained the details of the funeral and burial ceremony of the late wrestler Imamali Habibi, the enduring champion of Iranian sports and the pride of Babol city, in a conversation with reporters on Monday evening.
Referring to the high position of this wrestler, Mirtabar said: Imamali Habibi raised the name of Babol and Iran in the world arenas with his honors and efforts and raised the sacred flag of our country in the Olympics for the first time. His memory and name will always be a source of pride and honor for the people of Babol and the Iranian nation.
He added: The funeral ceremony for the late Habibi's body will begin on Wednesday from next to the Babol Freedom Stadium, which was built in 1963 with his efforts, and then he will be escorted by car to Velayat Square.
The special governor of Babylon continued: After the farewell in the city, a funeral ceremony will be held in his hometown, the village of Darzikla, Getab district, and according to the will of the late Habibi, his body will be buried in the eternal tomb of the same village.
Mirtabar, while inviting people, sports fans, wrestlers and veterans from all over the country, said: Attending this ceremony is an opportunity to honor the memory and name of a national hero whose services and honors have been recorded in the history of Iranian sports.
He finally emphasized: Although the body of Imam Ali Habibi will be buried, his name and memory will always live in the hearts of the people of Babylon and Iran.
Imam Ali Habibi, known as the World Champion of Babylon, was one of the pioneers and prominent symbols of Iranian wrestling. By winning numerous medals in world competitions and participating in the Olympics, he was the first person to wave the Iranian flag at the Olympics.
In addition to his sporting honors, Habibi played an effective role in training future generations of athletes and is always known as a popular legend and a role model for the country's youth.
