During her meeting with the Pakistani Prime Minister, Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized the need for joint and effective activities between Iran and Pakistan to stop the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza.
According to Ashura News, quoting ISNA, Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his accompanying delegation this afternoon. Referring to Pakistan's special position in the Islamic world, he emphasized the need for joint and effective activities between Iran and Pakistan to stop the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza.
At the beginning of this meeting, the Leader of the Revolution expressed his satisfaction with the end of the war between Pakistan and India and expressed hope for resolving the differences between the two countries. He also pointed to Pakistan's very good and strong position on the Palestinian issue over the past years and said: While there have always been temptations for Islamic countries to have relations with the Zionist regime in recent years, Pakistan has never been influenced by these temptations.
Pointing to the great potential of the Islamic Ummah for greater power in today's world, Ayatollah Khamenei added: "In a situation where warmongers in the world have many motives to create discord and war, the only thing that can ensure the security of the Islamic Ummah is unity among Islamic countries and promotion of relations between these countries."
He called the Palestinian issue the first issue of the Islamic world and, referring to the deplorable conditions in Gaza, noted: The situation in Gaza has reached a point where ordinary people in Europe and America are protesting against their governments by holding demonstrations, but in these same conditions, unfortunately, some Islamic governments are standing by the Zionist regime.
Emphasizing that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan can have an impact in the Islamic world by working together and steer the Palestinian issue off this wrong path, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said: "We are optimistic about the future of the Islamic world, and many events confirm our optimism."
Ayatollah Khamenei also considered the relations between Iran and Pakistan to be always warm and brotherly, and referring to Pakistan's good positions during the imposed war as an example of these brotherly relations, he assessed the current cooperation between the two countries in various dimensions as lower than expected, adding: The two countries can help each other in many areas, and we hope that this visit will help expand all-round communication in various fields, especially economic, political, and cultural.
The Leader of the Revolution also emphasized the need for cooperation between Iran and Pakistan to make the ECO organization more active.
In this meeting, which was also attended by President Pezhikian, Mr. Shahbaz Sharif expressed great pleasure at meeting with the Leader of the Revolution and appreciated the positive role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in defusing the crisis that arose between Pakistan and India. While explaining the developments related to the recent conflicts, he referred to the issue of Gaza and said: Unfortunately, the international community is not taking any effective action to end the Gaza disaster.
The Pakistani Prime Minister also referred to his good and constructive talks in Tehran and expressed hope that this visit would pave the way for further expansion of relations between the two countries.
