According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr reporter, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, stated this morning (Wednesday, June 27) at the ceremony of renewing the representatives’ pledge to the ideals of Imam Khomeini (RA) and the martyrs at the shrine of the founder of the Islamic Revolution: “A year has passed since the day we stood in this same position on the eve of the beginning of the 12th Assembly. Full of passion, committed to principles, and hoping for the beginning of a new chapter in the country’s legislative history.”

He stated: “That day, we told the dear Imam and the Iranian nation with a clear promise that we came to build, to be loyal, and to progress. Today, at the beginning of the second session, we have come again not only to renew the pledge, but also to review the path we have traveled with hands full of experience and hearts full of concern.”

Qalibaf emphasized: “We have come to say that our first promise still stands, but today this promise has been tested by a year of experience in a storm of problems and has found meaning and is reflected in the mirror of the nation’s supervision.”

The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly continued: At the beginning of the 12th Assembly, the esteemed Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the Assembly should be a source of hope, a source of peace, a source of encouragement, and an invitation to empathy and brotherhood in the public environment of the country. Now, in its second year, we know better than ever that creating hope is not talking about the future, but rather building the future.

He continued: We have learned that peace is formed in the shadow of courageous and thoughtful legislation, and empathy finds meaning not in ceremonial meetings, but in the field of action when reviewing the budget, supervising implementation, and addressing the real problems of people's lives.

He stated: Dear Imam! You called the Assembly the head of affairs. We believe that we should not only repeat this phrase in language, but we must prove it in the level of the Assembly's performance. If the Assembly is the house of the nation, its language should be their cry, and the behavior of representatives with the people, the government, and the media should be worthy of the representative of the nation, far from fleeting political noise.

The Speaker of the Legislative Branch stated: “In the second year, we consider our nation’s representatives more and more obligated to serve the people not with heavy slogans, but by passing useful laws, effective supervision, and observing the public interest. We consider ourselves more committed than ever to political piety, to simplicity, collective work, and avoiding eroding conflicts.”

Qalibaf continued: “Today, the country is facing simultaneous economic, cultural, and security challenges. The enemy has targeted our minds more than threatening our soil, and in these circumstances, the parliament must also be the support for the people’s souls.”

He continued: “In the combined battlefield, being popular and revolutionary rationality are our most important weapons. We must know that national production is paralyzed by laws that have an unreasonable financial burden. Justice is undermined by indifference to the disadvantaged.” National security is damaged by extremist behavior in the media, and people's hope is destroyed by partisan disputes in the parliament.

The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly emphasized: The second session is a new opportunity to re-align wills, improve productivity, and prove that the parliament can be a policymaker without controversy, but with firmness.

Qalibaf added: Dear Imam! You said that serving the people is a form of worship. Today, these worships find meaning for us in answering a few central questions. Has what we have approved improved people's lives? Has the question we have asked and the supervision we have carried out led to the improvement of affairs?

He stated: In the political arena, we will never forget the scene of divine judgment. Today, next to the shrine of our Imam, next to the shrine of a man who spoke only for God and took no steps except in the path of God, and next to the founder of this system, we declare and declare with all our being that we adhere to the school of the Imam, that is, to rationality, justice, and spirituality, and we pledge to adhere to the school of the Imam, rationality, justice, and spirituality. We consider the instructions of the Supreme Leader not only as a guide, but also as our executive and practical roadmap.

The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly stated: Now, with a year of experience, we are ready for any correction of the path to be at the level of a revolutionary assembly; a assembly that revolves around national interests instead of tribalism, and that instead of chaos, realistic idealism is at its forefront.

He stated: "We, the representatives of the nation, with all our human weaknesses, seek help from the Almighty God to purify our intentions, keep our hearts in the service of the people, and guard our tongues from idle talk. We pledge today, next to the tomb of this divine man, to follow the path of the Imam and the martyrs and the leadership of the Supreme Leader to preserve Islam, the dignity of the Islamic nation, strengthen our beloved Iran, and to serve the people."
