According to Ashura News, citing Mehr News Agency, a meeting commemorating the martyr Ayatollah Morteza Motahari was held, hosted by Ali Larijani, advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in the presence of Mohammad Ali Amani, Secretary General of the Islamic Coalition Party, members of the Central Council, and secretaries of the party's provinces.

This meeting is held every year on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Professor Martyr Motahari (may Allah have mercy on him) through the efforts of the Islamic Coalition Party.

This meeting, focusing on examining the intellectual and cultural dimensions of Martyr Motahari on the path of the Islamic Revolution, became a platform to emphasize the necessity of rereading and promoting the ideas of this prominent thinker within the framework of the second step of the revolution.

Motahari is a symbol of cultural insight and confrontation with the distorters of the revolution

Mohammad Ali Amani, the new Secretary General of the Islamic Coalition Party, referring to the effective role of Martyr Motahari during the Imam Khomeini (RA) movement and the early years of the revolution, emphasized that characteristics such as political insight, accurate knowledge of the process, and intelligence in crisis management have made Motahari a lasting role model for future generations.

Recalling Martyr Motahari's leadership in preventing the confiscation of the historical Behesht Zahra ceremony by opposition groups, he stated that today, more than ever, we need to revive the cultural and epistemological ideas of this martyr.

Referring to his election as the new Secretary General of the Islamic Coalition Party, he announced the party's determination to promote Motahari's intellectual legacy.

The decline of governments begins with injustice, parties must take political education seriously

Ali Larijani, advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, took a critical look at the state of the country's governing institutions in this meeting and emphasized that martyr Motahari always considered justice, rationality, and correct political education to be the three fundamental axes of the stability of governments and warned that deviation from these principles would pave the way for the fall of civilizations.

Referring to the teachings of Muslim philosophers such as Farabi, Ibn Rushd, and Ghazali, he noted that distancing from justice and rationality has always been the main factor in the decline of government systems in history.

Larijani also considered the weakness of political education in the governing institutions of the Islamic Republic to be one of the major shortcomings in today's politics and emphasized that parties should play a more serious role in raising an informed, responsible, and morally-oriented generation.

He called the Islamic Coalition Party an example of genuine movements arising from religious thought and, referring to the managerial characteristics of the late Habibollah Asgar Oladi, called for documenting the political behavior of such figures as indigenous models of Islamic management.

The culture of Martyr Motahari should be a guide for building an Islamic society in the second step of the revolution

At this ceremony, Asadollah Badamchian, Chairman of the Central Council of the Islamic Coalition Party, praised the scientific, cultural, and revolutionary status of Martyr Motahari and described him as one of the intellectual pillars of the Islamic Revolution, saying: Martyr Motahari was one of the first figures whom Imam Khomeini (RA) had complete trust in and would not even accept the publication of his works without his personal approval.

Referring to the distortions of some movements in presenting an incomplete picture of Motahari, Badamchian emphasized: This martyr was not a mere intellectual, but a comprehensive thinker committed to the principles of the revolution. He combined clarity and intellectual independence with scientific depth, and these same characteristics prevent his intellectual appropriation by any faction.

Emphasizing that the culture of Martyr Motahari can be a roadmap for realizing a model Islamic society, he called for redefining the role of the coalition party in the cultural path of the revolution and following the intellectual line of Martyr Motahari.

National authority cannot be achieved without redefining Islamic partisanship in provincial governance

Following this ceremony, Hossein Anvari, Vice Chairman of the Central Council of the Islamic Coalition, took a more conceptual look at Martyr Motahari’s discourse and emphasized the need to redefine the position of “Islamic partisanship” within the framework of national authority. Referring to the challenges of governance in the Islamic system, he added: In the provincial system, religious concepts, including partisanship, must be explained in such a way that they can provide appropriate rational and spiritual support for national authority.

Anvari emphasized the new slogan of the Islamic Coalition based on Islamic governance, provincial partisanship, and national authority, and called for the participation of scientific and intellectual elites in formulating the party's roadmap for the new period.

The need to review political literature and culture

Also, Farsi Nejad, the inspector of the Central Council of the Islamic Coalition Party, referring to Articles 26 and 27 of the Constitution, stated that the Constitution has not stated any obligations for parties in the issue of partisanship, whether in the field of cadre building or in the field of governance based on democracy and creating a platform for Islamic governance. This is one of the major shortcomings of the Constitution in the issue of partisanship.

Continuing his speech, he asked Ali Larijani, as a member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, to review the prevailing political culture.

Farsi Nejad stated: After the 2005 presidential elections, a literature dominated the political atmosphere; The result was the emergence of young people concerned about the revolution with populist and arrogant literature, while our elders in the political organization of our Islamic Coalition Party taught modesty, politeness, and tolerance.

Also, Mohammad Hossein Niknam, a member of the party's Central Council, called for the production of diverse and up-to-date content from Motahari's works and the use of new media platforms to convey his thoughts to those thirsting for knowledge abroad.

At the end of this ceremony, Hojjatoleslam Chitsazan also called for the reactivation of the headquarters commemorating this martyr throughout the country.
